Stella Olatete on Her Rejection by the Senate
" Its no big deal Senate didn't confirm me as minister; I am only 40...I was Vice president of the National Association of Delta state students in Rivers College of Arts and Sciences Port Harcourt. After my diploma, I finished my first degree and went for NYSC.
" I was elected councillor and while I was councillor, I did not build any personal house for myself. I remember my colleagues then had blocks of flats they were able to build with salaries we got as councillors.
" I used mine to empower people, I did water projects and skill acquisition programmes. I renovated a section of the general hospital.
" I changed to APC in 2014 because of Muhammad Buhari, at that time, I was not happy with the running of the country, our roads in the Niger Delta were not good, President Jonathan 's aides were mismanaging funds and the Chibok girls were kidnapped and I joined the Bring Back our Girls movement.
" My rise to fame has nothing to do with my beauty. I am one of the few women who do not play politics with their looks. I am not a party goer .
" I had no problem with my rejection by the Senate alongside El Rufai, that has passed, speaking about it will look as if I am still healing. I have unrestricted access to Mr President, I have his ears, and I am using the NEXIM bank to help diversify the economy.
" Some of those that wrote unpleasant things about me came back to apologise. President Tinubu will win the 2027 election, he has no real opposition. "_ Stella Olotete
